europe's new sovereign power — narrative
in 2060, the new leader of blurope is a man named caerleone, an israeli-born slavic jew who moves to san fransciso and then silicon valley and then singapore and then shanghai. caerleone, a three-fold amalgamation of the terms "lion, blue and king" named himself this only after he declared himself as king of blurope in the image of a successor to napoleon, not the first but the third, declaring himself even superior to gabriel moreau (gaullist-federal sponsored french president, leader of ersa) and anna reuter (german chancellor/formed by a fragile three-party coalition), who have retained their diplomatic spots despite european successionist parlimentary policy due to power shifts requiring the illusion of executive control. caerl took over the union by denying every chance for moreau to imagine he is superior to him without being denied the ability to actually be superior to him
moreau would approach him with an intentionally sabotaging policy proposal, and all caerl would do is accept moreau's sovereignity unconditionally. one time, he offered moreau the ability to be the sole ruler of europe, sabotaging the entire council and keeping them from contesting, and then going on leave for two months. moreau in these two months managed to lose half of the balkan to chinese drones and automatons. when caerl returned, all he did was ask china to give him back the territory. when they resisted, he went to hong kong, and created an entire war-city that occupied chinese territory. he then simply re-framed chinese conquest of europe as a natural development, the way the ancient chinese would talk about the jesuits, or the way the balkan would talk about the ottomans.
this war city is unlike nothing you have ever seen before. it is made up of terrestrial-beurocratic megacity structures, grey fields, full of empty skyscrapes. they are made up of soldiers who are truly, fierlessly not afraid to die for the first time in history. this is because inside of their heads there is a metal compound protecting their brain against explosions. every time the soldiers lose nearly half their bodies in a self-triggered explosion, a protective device triggers that transfers their neural system into a different body part. this is allowed because europeans unlike any other global race truly dont care about their own bodies, only caring about their arrogance. even americans cannot possibly imagine doing this to themselves.
unlike automatons (which europe has made used none of, but produced plenty of, yet only to export to america to at least keep russia away from europe), europeans fight directly, and they fight with swords, bows and shields and not guns. they dont fight to claim territory or to prevent their territory from being lost, they dont fight for oil, they fight only to be annoying. the oil, cars and so on already arrive in europe by themselves, they are prerequisites to being part of a global self-perpetuating economy. in this sense, every single military soldier in europe is not a protective policy, but just a simulation of international terrorism.
this was a trend set by caerl himself, who killed a diplomatic qatari official in the middle of a eu meeting by stabbing him in the head and raising his sword in the sky, declaring european sovereignity for the first time since the embarassement of the first world war. the sword raising isnt just symbolic, its the first time a sword has had a non symbolic role in hundreds of years since the invention of the bulldozer, canon, rifle, pistol and so on. the european council around him was not only not pleasantly shocked, but dissapointed, and immediately called their american and russian assets abroad to complain.
a sword raised in the sky is not a stake for antiquated sovereignity, but more than that, the sword being raised is exemplary of the denial of modernity itself and all the weapons that arrive from the future, by proxy from foreign imports that carry the colonial logic of cultural influence through the devices. the return of the sword doesnt come equipped with a special nanotechnological layer, a faster way to retrieve or wield it, no protective armband or reinforced metal sheen. the swords are built in a factory resembling the standards of medieval sword crafting experts.
one time, the hungarian pm, tomas kulyom betrayed caerl by speaking to his assets in a way that sabotaged an entire european mission. caerl raised his sword, seemingly ready to kill him, but only to turn out to be quite literally knighting him, after which he sent him off to a diplomatic mission in indonesia, and even allowed him to continue to be an operational security risk due to the way it apparently fosters healthy competition
caerl is simply allowed to be a global security risk in every aspect of european beurocratic identity, in the form of a trump of europe, because he managed to figure out how to turn the beuorcracy of europe from an outward-pleasing network to an inward-protective network. the beurocracy was reoriented away from diplomatic mission, all european officials were strictly banned from communicating with anyone from the northern hemisphere, fully managing only southern affairs, and all beurocratic codexes were turned inwards. the entire european population quite literally became their own tiny intelligence operations, akin to closed and fully operational but tiny counteroperations. the entire eu civilian population either became economic production agents or military soldiers.
caerl achieved this because populism extended so thoroughly, religion fell so quickly, political instability created so much paranoia, that all he had to do was take over the vatican and raise his sword. every single european fell before him and reflected on their own history, after which they were deployed. europeans have nothing to lose because they have been vacationing for nearly six hundred years now, far more than americans have even existed.
after six years of rule, caerls next step was to turn all of his officials against themselves and against europe, he intentionally caused chaos in meetings, false sabotage, and even for a brief period allowed chinese diplomats to entirely take over the european unions council. he told every official to host their own tiny meeting rooms in their own apartments and basically sabotaged the entire institutional complex. whilst this was happening, war-cities were being built in strips, one across the atlantic basin, one across the mediterranian, one across the caspian, and one in the arctic. when america finally proposed to forcefully take over greenland, caerl simply took the lower half of florida in exchange. america didnt dare to try to take it back, because caerl had something else up his sleeve
whilst altman, dario, thiel, musk, karp and ellison were fighting to make their theocratic satanic religion come to life, modernity had been keeping europe fed without the need for a messiah. in the corpse of christ, caerl had been moving away from space races, car races, oil races or even fiscal races. instead, he has been inventing nanotech, dronetech and even a new form of tech, orbtech, with the sole intention of sabotaging international security operations. the first agi is in the form of these tiny, fully conscious but non agential blobs, with the sole ability to detect when to self-explode.
fully resistant to being unpacked, they contain specialized transistor chips that make it very easy to commit a global genocide. they're planted around cafo's, sensitive military zones and sovereign countries. they form large sovereign circles in the form of "green zones" that either pre-emptively commit auto-genocide without ever needing to murder anyone, by making invisible all animal or human life with no surveillance or camera feedback or intentionally sabotage the ability for other countries to perform intelligence operations.
orbtech is built to infuriate and harass billionaires, prevent genocidal zones from ever coming to life, and even stick-to-destroy random commodities. they are fully anonymous, extremely powerful, in perpetual production in european basements all throughout the union, and even more recently in self-building factories in africa and latin america "green hyperscales", protected by even more orbtech planted in the form of bombs above settlements, and they even have the capacity to deter nuclear weapons by exploding them midair, much like defense systems. europe has also been pre-planting them on american, chinese and russian spaceships, attempting to blow up as much as their reserves. but paradoxically, its also been selling them spaceship tech that caerl's industries actually created themselves. most important of all, orbtech is a technology manufactured to resist cybernetic order and technological mediation, it is a chaotic and sabotaging equipment that cannot easily be rid of, like a technological virus meant to delay modernity's political tendencies.
europe chokes out the periphery by simultaneously building high-end tech but also sabotaging the symbolic limits of its allowance, messing with the ability for sovereign self-execution. but, every european official understands that caerl ultimately doesnt actually believe in europe, or really, any other state. they also know that he himself is an american asset. yet, it doesnt matter, because he holds the image of a unified territory so strongly, that he's actually managing to use the symbolic weapons of modernity against the total subsumption of europe by modernity's pull. he manages to re-stage sovereignity as an internal responsibility rather than as an external imposition by synthetically staging exclusions. essentially, he creates "rupture zones" in sovereign territories that create conditons where sovereignity can allow itself to extend more than it should, but by doing so, to sacrfiice a part of its internal balance, its meaning-making agency.
for example, caerl found a new way to leveradge data, data can be used to figure out a part of the unconscious of a domestic population of civilians that can be used to better orient intergalactic efforts. yet, when musk wanted this technology, caerl forced him to choose between acquiring it, and between losing a part of israeli territory to no other than a malaysian sovereign project. every time a sovereignity comes closer to its sense of meaning, caerl destabilizes an actual geopolitical region of the world, disonnecting it from planetary computation. this disonnect creates the conditions for counter-modernity and alternate forms of social organization. caerl himself, the pinnacle of modernity, actually doesnt even want this to occur, he's just schizophrenically multiplying identities rather than genocidally narrowing them because he wants to keep up a healthy global order
in this way, a sovereign country is forced not just to choose its enemies, but its allies. caerl managed to convince andrej amengovic, the croatian pm, to actually re-enact a yugoslavian territory that takes in central european states rather than balkan ones, all whilst causing a balkan insurrection that made it adopt catholicism. as this machinic acceleration was occuring, a global and increasing african sovereign mission with a newly pagan religion wanted to exert influence over europe, only to miserably fail when it realized just how unapologetically depoliticized the entire continent is.
caerl has been forcing every european official who has managed to consistently fail to transfer political corruption into sovereign acceleration by imprisoning them on saint helena. ten years after his rule, he actually fully dissapeared to mt. funji for four years, and meanwhile, managed to force texas to become independent of the states and join mexico. simultaneously, military campaigns extorted from europe have been bombing gulf states in schizophrenic revenge to outsourced military activities, and caerl's cohorts of barons and earls have been staging parodic but very real medieval conquests throughout the states, managing to convince a part of the san franciscan citizenry to convert to being amish.
