as baudrillard would argue, men make their own history, they do make it as they please, and it does follow random and uncomprehensible patterns; they do make it under self-selected circumstances, given and transmitted from a meta-virus that recombines and transumates all hitertho social assemblages. the pentagon uses claude to conduct miltary opeartions, they punish them for not falling ideologically in line but are too addicted to the language it has convinced them is their reality. the israeli state bombstrikes childrens schools on accident trying to fire away at whatever threat detection system has designated as a target in that moment. as eyel weizmann shows us, the camera isn't only another weapon here but the main weapon, the signal that the political order of data surveillance is manifesting without interruption. the political moment itself, all institutional alignment itself is an abstraction of human affairs, politics is already the politics of a distant future that corrupts the present.
politicians are figureheads of a cosmic order, the fully secularized and modernized world is a simulation of its own fantasies of achieving full self-empirical alignment, of achieving a type of "progressive ethics" that narrows the world into not a cultural singularity, but in the moment where singularity can emerge through a meta-singularity that allows the real one (an artificial but humanmade construct) to re-emerge as a rule-maker that manifests into the abstractive realm a post-abstractive existence, the final goal of political subsumption being that of the end of politics itself, but one that allows us to re-emerge into a distinctly entirely new enviornment. politics is not the management or implimentation of policies, but is itself simply a vechile that brings about domains, the new world order is not a metaphor of deep control but of literal new orderings of the world.
the tradition of all dead generations is subsumed by this xenological transference, the world in its belief in an everpowering modernity cannot but help to use the haunting of the past to arrange the future. the past history of all hitertho society is just a recurring joke to the current civil order, a little soft and undermined, politically fragile and inferior order that it can pull on for inspiration whenever the next teleologically superior crisis actually emerges, to such an extent that it makes a joke out of all "human" disorders of the past. and just as they seem to be occupied with preventing immanent danger from the skies, the literal manifestation of the fake gods of the past turned real, precisely in such epochs of existential crisis they anxiously conjure up the spirits of the past to their service, borrowing from them names, battle slogans, and costumes in order to present a scene of post-history in time-honored disguise and borrowed language.
thus brexit was staged as imperial restoration and parliamentary sovereignty revival, but only functionally produced regulatory subordination and trade realignment, eu “strategic autonomy” doctrine became a rhetoric of gaullist independence but only ushered in a materially deepened transatlantic military dependence, and illiberal constitutional reforms in hungary/poland invoked christian-national continuity but merely operated through modern legal-bureaucratic consolidation. in like manner, the beginner who has been infested with a language from the future cant help but to immediately prophesize it hyperstitionally into existence, but he assimilates the spirit of the new language and expresses himself freely in it only when he moves in it without recalling the old and when he forgets his native tongue.
the european sovereign resilience authority (esra), the directorate for algorithmic standards (das), the continental energy synchronization board (cesb), the northern conditionalists (frl) and european soil movement (esm), the joint procurement command, the treaty of porto, the fast paced social media warmongering on twitter, the entire european civic ledger and all of its councils, the meta-game played by beurocratic headless machines of the state, the civil law and the penal code, as well as the entirety of the union continuity alliance (uca) headed by moreau - 2058 – all have vanished like a phantasmagoria before the spell of a man whom even his enemies do not make out to be a sorcerer. the idea of international law seems to have survived only for the moment, so that with its own hand it may make its last will and testament before the eyes of all the world and declare in the name of the people itself: “all that exists deserves to be heard, or else it may perish” (from bratton's hemispherical stacks)
it is not enough to say, as bratton does, that the european nation simply ceased to exist overnight, and then re-emerged in the image of american sovereignity only after foreign interests capitulated on all its power. councils and oil routes are not forgiven the unguarded hour in which the first adventurer who came along could violate them. such turns of speech do not solve the riddle but only formulate it differently. it remains to be explained how a nation of four-hundred and fifty millions can be surprised and delivered without resistance into captivity by a single knight of industry.
let us recapitulate in general outline the phases that the european revolution went through from may 20, 2059 to march 29, 2061. three main events are unmistakable: "the four nights" of continental grid desynchronization; the frankfurt liquidity tremor of june 3rd 2060, and the period of caerl's testimonial plot-lining between september 14, 2060 to february 11, 2061, as well as six periods of consolidation, the slow fracture (2058-2059), the trigger crisis (spring 2060), the decomposition of the ruling bloc (summer 2060), the northern conditionalist reforms (autumn 2060), the constitutional overturn of esra (winter 2060-2061) and the fall of the council/the large consolidation event (april 2061).

these crises would go on to haunt the european image all the way up to 2061, but the fundamental dramas remain the same every time, when brussels frames sovereignity as rule-of-law decay and when nationalist governments rise to meet the requirement of a visible power shift, order collapses in against democracy and then flows back out. when the north wants to attack the south, it stages stability through fiscal policies that the south cant manage or work up against. in this way, the tradable infrastructure of the north is used not as a market but as a weapon of submission, launched towards the south in the form of a retaliation.
when war that arises as a result of european expansion projects of the past causes another power leakage, the european aristocracy frames that problem as an immanent danger that, in the form of a hyperobject will strike europe through climate catastrophe or economic spillover as a consequence of a war that europe doesnt actually have to fight. when europe wants to avoid genocidal catastrophe or monarchical expansion, it assumes that tragedy itself can be arranged away with even stricter economic policies, using the economic model as a basic rhetoric to expand itself against, and in a sense, to expand against itself. the force of industry in the image of order in security meeting the successionist parliment in the image of security through order ends up being a purely empirical conflict, decided by the civilians of the union that determine which path looks it avoids the direct global confrontation that europe wants to avoid no matter the stakes.
by the time of the late 2050's, the european union already had 38 member states, including ukraine, western balkans and georgia. the main factions, the union continuity alliance (gographically west-center), the fiscal rectitude league (geographically north), the european soil movement (geographically south-east) the climate restitution front (geographically south), the digital commons caucus (center-east) and the montagne civique (globalists) are all functions that exist because of the way in which geopolitical developments actually impact the union. the qualified majority voting was extended in limited foreign policy areas after a 2047 treaty reform by the uca titled the treaty of porto. ai governance was centralized in a powerful european digital authority, demographic contraction was severe in certain areas like eastern europe, and migration stabilized at some point but consistently shifted over time. the eurozone had expanded but wasnt fully fiscalized, although in the balkans the euro served as a symbol of authority and status projection, the bourgeosie and aristocratic class trade with it, and certain institutions require euro trades, but there is an entire illegal underground network still trading in national currencies.
the reason the european council has not used the commission president to sanction balkan states or the digital commons caucus to cut off post-national technocratic reach into these states and to provoke fiscal monetoring or surveillance is because the european soil movement, spearheaded by slavodjan dubrovik has refused integration into the union continuity alliance (uca). a man named gabriel asmoy, the same councilor who helped with the 2031 danube flooding incident and organized the first european climate relocation corridor had been an asset to slavodjan for over fifteen years, learning from the integrationists and sending him information about the way in which their foreign diplomacy may be influencing the way in which they deal with southern fiscal independence policies. meanwhile, the south only disallows the ability to be fully fiscally integrated despite massive european-backed civil engineering programmes and ngo-facilitated re-education facilities is because it understands that its own institutions will be heavily weakned as an effect of this procedure.
the first period, the slow fracture (2058-2059), occured during the time of a joint leadership between the aquarium (europe's whitehouse, a brussels-located parliamentary overflow chamber), the trieste free port complex, a renovated habsburg customs palace which serves as the headquarters of esra, the main european authority, which is a council founded in 2056 after the helsinki grid hearings, and a joint but weak coalition between the uca, the frl and the dcc, headed by the german chancellor anna reuter.
the main consolidator of this council, a man born jofan j. sardonio but renamed to jofan j. mizrahi, was the former head of the algorithmic compliance regime, raised and born in tel aviv in 2024, worked in standford systems engineering, studied in singapore and became head of a quantum logistics board (2046-49), after which he became a naturalized eu citizen in 2055. the way he got into the council was due to the fact he rebuilt a strasbourg hemicycle in 2053 after a regional fire, he also helped to construct a secure energy coordination bunker outside gdansk, ford kopernik, ten years prior through the help of the dcc.
in article 44 of the constitution it is stated:
“the president of the french republic must never be an immigrant, nor must he ever be a foreign asset, a supply-chain risk, outside of a central faction, or the leader of security operations not intertwined with direct council authority.” the second and final president of the esra, jofan j. caerleone, was all of these things, including an eastern european jew. so how could he rise in the ranks of a brussels elite who had all the reason to avoid entangling the politics of the south and problems with energy and the idea of democracy as fundamentally enabled by a system of contradictory states working in unison?
during the european parliamentary elections in may 2059, the turnout rate was under 40%, and the successor of the epp and s&d factions was the integrationist center, which retained plurality but lost the cohesive majority. furthermore, civilians were angry about the development of a new technology in china which would enable soldiers with metal cranial compounds enabling neural transfer after self-detonation. this is a problem because it would enable new simulations and fronts for potential proxy war, china had already been waging economic war on europe for ten years at this point, trading exclusively with america, partially due to the way in which european diplomatic democracy causally lends power to the u.s economically and soft-gates the other countries out of economic trading routes and options.
in june of the same year, a coalition of sovereignist anti-climate parties gained 30% of the seats, several member states elected governments running on repatriation. the multiannual financial framework was under renegotiation due to climate adaptation, and the four european regions demanded different expectations from this occurance. after 36 hours without agreement, the european council summit collapsed under its own weight. the very same gabriel asmoy who had been sabotaging fiscal unification was also involved in the process of disassuming the pro-climate initiative in the south, weakening the italian premier, lucia bellandi's call to open up discounted energy reserves in the south, by rallying central european voters towards slightly assuming voting grounds, and by helping strenghten the central military complex (which only 17 member states actually contribute to) against chinese upheaval.
around this time, russian-conquered estonia had been waging populist-style protests near its border, calling for an armed guard. at the breakpoint, jofan mirazhi had consistently been evading the west and continued to remain situated in the northeast, using government bonds to help keep the fuel up for the solidarity stabilization mechanism ii (ssm-ii), the primary climate-disaster fiscal backstop for the council, largely by taking money away from the continental energy synchronization board, which was established after the 2038 baltic cascade reforms. the reason mirazhi was doing this is because he wanted to keep the populists on his side whilst simultaneously avoiding taking directly from esra. at the same time, esra aristocrats had been calling on josaf to help control certain rules and come up with strategies during the meeting grounds.
this is because a year prior, in may 2058, josaf had helped to secure a board meeting win against american diplomats who had already at that point nearly broken into iceland. this wasnt an interballistics war, rather, a treaty signed in 2051 technically gave america headway, but due to the russia-taiwan operation and due to the teconic problems in oceania, america had to postpone this operation. the esra president helena varoufakis had actually warned josaf to stay away from trying to trick american exports, and even though josaf has secretly been working on preventing insurrection in minneapolis and new york against the federal state in the u.s, he was also working against american foreign interests by messing with stock-market prediction algorithms directly by using the energy resource networks at the institutions he governs.
on may 18th, in a united nations board meeting, josaf actually drew a star of david on a whiteboard in six key locations surrounding a european-owned hyperscale and energy deposit complex in kentucky, teasing american nationals to try to occupy this region during a windstorm, whilst trying to fight off chinese interests in the area before the siege, and european interests after it. josaf had simultaneously struck a deal against the favor of the joint procurement command (jpc) to renovate a part of the hyperscale back in august with an american energy company, but was also working with a private european council to force america into having to either enter an active climate event to seize it before their contract ran out due to an existing scam set in place, or to have to enter a territorial dispute with the chinese military who had to use the base to transport ammunition and energy during their siege of taiwan. josaf had simultaneously tricked european nationals, and forced the american president to concede the base to european interests, which was one of the first beurocratic victories for europe in over twenty years, ever since the 2042 naples agricultural riots over desalination quotas.
but this year around, it was slightly different. the protests had caused eastern european committees to freeze up, and with josaf's intentional avoidance of aquarium-related talks, and with diplomatic losses occuring due to his absence of cross-manipulation, the west was back on the chopping board, and this caused mass civil unrest. a popular paper, le continent algorithmique, was even quoted as saying "europe is paying for everyone’s apocalypse".
the trigger crisis started due to a continental grid failure in april 2060 caused by cascading software faults in ai-managed renewable balancing systems. blackouts were spotted across germany, poland, northern italy and belgium, which caused a 72-hour disruption. this didnt lead to a war but the infrastructural power that the 2057 luxembourg memorandum was supposed to solve, backed by the continental energy synchronization board on sovereign cloud infrastructure, proved to be extremely brittle, and only caused a successive sequence where a sovereign debt panic in southern europe emerged after extreme climate events forced emergency borrowing, destabilizing france and belgium, increasingly enforced by a chinese-backed major cyber-financial disruption, which caused precarity at the exact moment that institutional elites were supposed to be debating how to solve the issue. an emergency european council was hosted on april 23, 2060 by esra, where helena varoufakis proposed a centralized continental command authority for all matters pertaining to energy moving forward. a few of the revisionist states resisted this mandate, especially the polish prime minister tomasz wielicki.
in june and july of 2060, the german chancellor lost coalition majority over emergency fiscal transfers, the french president called for treaty revision to create a european infrastructure sovereignty clause, and this also failed due to resistance by slavodjan dubrovik, who, in a formed coalition with polish and hungarian governments entirely refused deeper integration. this led to the european parliament voting narrowly against expanding commission emergency powers, which led to a power gap in the authority of the council that made it incapable of progressing its rhetoric onwards but left a spot for soft power grabs.
josaf was barred from having any say in the crisis the union continuity alliance was experiencing in the summer of 2060, which started crumbling shortly after this point. the reason for his barring is tied to his previous proposals towards a european sovereignity when it comes to de-economizing various cultural assets, such as the defunding of museums, cultural objects, increase in wage labour, and massive proposals for an increase in military spending. josaf had also successfully managed to ban all foreign imports and exports in ukraine, italy and slovakia, forcing the three countries in a month-long experiment of heavy industrialization, where they were fully required to source all of their technology.
another reason why josaf was barred from the european sovereign resilliance authority and the central union was because of his inability to be held acccountable according to the european civic ledger standard, and for failing inspections by the european transparency comission (opsce). josaf had originally marketed a new technology, orbtech, as a domestic device meant for helping send command-chains all throughout not only household appliances, maid robotics, command systems, energy preservation devices and vechile transport logistics software embedded into household units, but also as a multi-operational toy, broadcasting phone feeds, integrating into social network command systems (sncs's) and even broadcasting video content to telecommunications software and saas operations, much like similar devices released by apple and microsoft during this time (not released by amazon and google for certain sovereign worries and due to being partially outcompeted by chinese markets who took over a large chunk of us and eu audiences).
but josaf's orbtech was slightly different, it kept sending "hints" about european sovereign power, actually enforcing memes through its conversational patterns reminiscent of ancient european history, romanizing and latinizing certain proverbs, going so far as to imbed other household objects into a logic of submission, supposedly quoted by die synchronie (the berlin policy review) to be "forcefully creating a church enviornment in a household bedroom, dimming lights, reorienting furnature, integrating tech into an authoritarian dynamic, imbedding ethnic cultural messaging, reinforcing specific standards around hygiene and clothing options". this orbtech also emitted a green light when pulled under an xray with no explainable cause, nor any sensor equipment that could bypass this emittal.
worst of all, anthropic had already requested that josaf unlock the hardware for orbtech or at the very least post the contractually obligated material on how this specific brand of orbtech "euroquest" was built or maintained. josaf not only used his ties with the directorate for algorithmic standards to bypass these requirements, but argued that foreign interests demands dont actually have any authority in europe, and europe's last corporate tech brand, philipps, had already been seventy years discontinued from making prime grade tech equipment. josaf's own brand, euroquest, at this point was only competing with german ai drone warfare brand helsing for almost total control over the european high-tech market, including speculative research into neuron-protecting body armor equipment.
to some, josaf mizrahi's euroquest network and appliances reminded them of elon musk's takeover of twitter, branded as x, which sent explicit messaging about how powerful its own leader is, and was trained in certain messaging patterns that promoted the sovereign's vision of how the act of communication itself is to be committed. josaf was nonetheless still watched closely by varoufakis and the entire committee during this time, but was implicitly protected by the ecj chief justice, ines marković (a croatian jurist and porto treaty architect) as well as the ecb president, rafael domínguez (a spanish citizen, one of the key actors in monetary stabilization within the central council). marković allowed josaf to experience less questioning and detterence from both the european council and the continental energy synchronization board, but was not fully protected by the civic ledger nor the national militaries of france and germany who had been running private accounts on him.
however, during the fourth phase of the recapitulation, josaf had been nonetheless requested by varoufakis and the entire esra board to nonetheless join the union, even with major disagreements by almost the entire civic and corporate body of germany, france, belgium, switzerland and even most elites in the aquarium. nonetheless, josaf was certified, he was already the director of the european digital resilience agency, and was finally appointed special envoy for infrastructure stabilization in august of 2060. marković, domínguez and asmoy had been framing him as a "hyper-competent crisis technocrat" to the atlantic media, and american interests still hadnt fully recognized the potential danger of having him host the meetings, assuming that euroquest was an attempt to funnel economic capital into institutional authority rather than as an attempt at a foreign coup.
during an august 21st meeting, josaf went head to head against anna reuter in a debate that would solidify his control over the dcc, frl and ecj, spliting them from the wider union. anna had requested greater conspiracy from eastern states, meanwhile southern elites demanded that the north ease up on fiscal policies so that energy could be correctly transferred. anna also requested the french navy to join the german military in an attempt to block chinese interference in the south, which had nearly materialized, chinese warships being deployed and circling near the caspian sea.
josaf meanwhile presented a continental sovereign systems doctrine that convinced aquarium elites to roll out a new program called "blue europe" that would roll in an emergency regulation grants temporary supranational oversight of energy and ai coordination for 18 months, preventing national deployment of troops without federal regulation. this federalization would only work in a way where nationalities however could individually deny being involved in the oversight process and did not mandate them to listen to orders from esra. this seemingly worked for both the western european elites and for the union continuity alliance, both of which assumed that their sovereignity in the matter would be recognized, and both of which found benefit in being able to avoid union backlash whilst still holding onto the relevant decision making capacities that allow them to exercise their own state's inner processes
several national courts did challenge the legality, especially the nordic countries and the part of the eastern bloc not conquered by russia. the south didnt have the institutional capacity to challenge most of the proposals, and only spain even contested any of the claims from the western side. the european court of justice scheduled an expedited hearing on february 2061 regarding certain policies seen as radical in blue europe, and most european civilians were generally against the proposal. however, voting no longer actually changed josaf's influence, because he had taken over not only cultural and symbolic capital through tech, but also managed to re-route decision making away from political practice and into the aristocratic homeground, tying institutional control directly with the ability to monopolize political decision making processes outside of economic grounds.
before the scheduled hearing on feburary, in january 2061 a second smaller infrastructure failure occured in central europe, which caused public opinion to shift slightly. on febuary 11th, the ecj ruled emergency powers as lawful under an expanded solidarity clause, allowing the directorate for algorithmic standards to use orbtech ai systems and euroquest networks to bypass brussels-related infrastructure and help streamline energy transfer. josaf was well aware that gabriel moreau had actually installed a secondary software on the command pannel created by the joint procurement command (jcp) and that it not only spied on activities done by orbtech, but also allowed data synchronization to reroute away from euroquest networks and into aquarium-owned hyperscales.
josef, at this point, had been deploying a method he called "the reciprocity lock" which involved a mandate that forces the union to be entirely diplomatically transparent, for external diplomacy to be partially paused, and for tech governance to be rewired away from helsing control systems. the member states then retaliate by forming shadow liaison offices, which caerl keeps check of and legalizes by funding them, viewing them as contradictory nodes in a wider beurocratically-inward spiral, creating predictive models of betrayal and strategizing on ways to paradoxically increase his enemies strenght.
varoufakis did warn josaf to stay away from doing anything about it, but she did know that he had the ability to override this command. josaf however actually benefitted from this development, because it helped him control the southern bloc and to bypass institutional proxies by rerouting data-related heists by the french government back into euroquest. josaf was doing this because the southern bloc through the montagne civique was attempting to bypass infrastructure-related processes. the public had been calling josaf's power a "second treaty of lisbon" and a "corrupt amendment".
as soon as the infrastructural crisis had been weathered and sovereign law abolished, the struggle between the national assembly and mizrahi broke out again.
on march 29, 2061, the european council was unable to convince the public to prevent euroquest from continuing to route central energy protocols. the south was making use of the related infrastructure, the center and north were already aligned with euroquest, and the west was subtly benefitting from the blue europe project and wasnt actually assured that it wanted to stop josef. the remaining states governments backed off and josef returned to eastern europe, leaving full control over the directorate for algorithmic standards directly to the european sovereign resilience authority.
behind this ministry he had seemingly effaced himself, surrendered governmental power into the hands of the integrationists, and donned the modest character mask that the responsible editor of euroquest wore under a new name that had been recently originating about josef, "caerleone", the mask of the homme de paille [straw man]. he now threw off a mask which was no longer the light veil behind which he could hide his physiognomy, but an iron mask which prevented him from displaying a physiognomy of his own.
the union continuity alliance and every affiliated integrationist celebrated the reconquest of a power that seemed lost in summer 2060 only to be found again, freed from its restraints, in 2061, celebrated by means of invectives against the integrationists and the european civic ledger, of curses on all internal and national sovereignity, present, and past systems of control, including that which its own leaders had made, and in laws by which the media was muzzled, association destroyed, and the state of siege regulated as an organic institution. the national assembly then adjourned from the middle of october to the middle of march, after having appointed a permanent commission for the period of its absence.
in april of 2061, several member states signed enhanced cooperation pact granting permanent sovereign systems authority to the directorate for algorithmic standards, supposedly governed by the aquarium, which also caused holdouts to marginalize economically, showing up in energy routing advantages and digital certification access. the united states, upon learning about this development, increased the import tax to 50% to europe and revoked diplomatic ties. the uca expected josef to attempt to regain control over foreign affairs outside of varoufakis' direct influence, but he instead held a council meeting where he revealed that he would entirely ban all european diplomats from engaging in communication with the states. meanwhile, as varoufakis term was ending, josef was already appointed to the position of president of the european sovereign resilience authority, right on time for this ban to occur before america attempted reintegrative policy. at this moment, josef declares himself "caerleon", emperor of blurope.
at this point, bonaparte would create a competence inversion directive, where he would announce a union-wide "militant rhetoric normalization act", forcing every ministry to simulate adversarial takeover scenarios and present them to the esra foundation quarterly. he then cross-signals the reports to rival states, audits them, and then allows states to deliberately oversaturate their threats and overexaggerate resource requirements and allocations. caerl manages to simulate an internal war-effort, where he marches technological progress not against an unknown enemy but against his own adversaries and companions, who he forces into positions of constant competition. beurocratic models fold inward, and europe is suddenly much more capable of creating sovereign tech, including new forms of technological and political logic.
in november, 2061, bonaparte had contented himself with an unparliamentary ministry, in january, 2062, with an extra-parliamentary one, and on april 11 he felt strong enough to form an anti-parliamentary ministry, which harmoniously combined in itself the no-confidence votes of both assemblies, the constituent and the legislative, the integrationist and the climate restitution front. i shall give the significant portion of his speech as reported in the journal le continent algorithmique:
'with such unhoped-for successes, i am justified in reiterating how great the european union would be if it were permitted to pursue its real interests and reform its institutions, instead of being constantly disturbed by foreign incursions, on the one hand, and by integrationist hallucinations, on the other.' (loud, stormy and repeated applause from every part of the amphitheater.) 'the integrationist hallucinations hinder all progress and all important branches of industry. in place of progress nothing but struggle. one sees men who were formerly the most zealous supporters of the council authority and prerogative become populists of a convention merely in order to weaken the authority that has sprung from international law.'
